# TypeScript

> How larch uses TypeScript in all four of its products: the Next.js front ends of Hiki and Scout, the Bridddge desktop app and the seo-mcp server.

URL: https://larch.ee/technologies/typescript/

larch writes its products in TypeScript. All four use it: the Next.js front ends of Hiki and Scout, the Bridddge desktop app and the seo-mcp server on Node.js.

- Products built: 4
- Web: Next.js 15
- Desktop: Electron
- Server: Node.js
- Hiki’s back end: Python

## Built with TypeScript

Four products, one language. Two web apps, a desktop app and an MCP server. TypeScript runs in all four, and we designed, built and shipped each one.

### [Hiki](https://larch.ee/work/hiki/)

TypeScript runs Hiki’s Next.js 15 front end, the multilingual catalog. The back end that scrapes and enriches the titles is Python.

- Year: 2025
- Stack: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, FastAPI, Python, MongoDB, Firebase, Google Cloud
- Live product: https://hiki.world

### [seo-mcp](https://larch.ee/work/seo-mcp/)

seo-mcp is Node.js and TypeScript with no framework dependencies. Worker threads scan pages in parallel during a full site crawl.

- Year: 2026
- Stack: Node.js, TypeScript, MCP, Worker Threads, Claude AI
- Live product: https://seo-mcp.dev

### [Bridddge](https://larch.ee/work/bridddge/)

Bridddge pairs TypeScript with Electron and React for a macOS app, and keeps its data in a local SQLite database.

- Year: 2025
- Stack: Electron, React, TypeScript, shadcn/ui, Tailwind CSS, SQLite, MCP, Claude AI
- Live product: https://bridddge.com

### [Scout](https://larch.ee/work/scout/)

Scout is TypeScript on Next.js 15. Its agent is a modular pipeline with discrete steps: discover, enrich, qualify, expand and draft.

- Year: 2025
- Stack: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, SQLite, Playwright, AI agents

## Related service

### [Web platform development](https://larch.ee/services/web-platform-development/)

Fast, resilient platforms that grow with your business, not against it.

What you get:

- **SaaS platforms, real-time dashboards and multilingual apps**: Hiki’s TypeScript front end serves a multilingual catalog; Scout’s shows the pipeline live while the agent works.
- **The entire stack, from front end to database**: On Hiki: a Next.js front end in TypeScript, a FastAPI back end and MongoDB, built by one team.
- **Deployed, monitored and scaled, not just built**: Hiki ships to Cloud Run through Cloud Build on every push to main.

## How we use TypeScript

One language, four products. TypeScript is the one language all four products share. It runs in the browser, in a desktop app and in a server that AI editors call.

### On the web: Hiki and Scout

Hiki and Scout are both Next.js 15 apps with React 19 and the App Router, written in TypeScript. Hiki’s front end renders a multilingual catalog with next-intl and locale-aware routing, and readers filter it by 21 genres, 100+ tags, price, discount, stock and store. Scout’s front end is where people run an AI sales agent: a seven-step setup wizard, a drag-and-drop Kanban pipeline, an analytics dashboard and an activity log that updates live while the agent works. Its agent is a modular pipeline with discrete steps to discover, enrich, qualify, expand and draft, and its data sits in SQLite in WAL mode.

Hiki is also where TypeScript stops. Its back end, which scrapes the bookstores and enriches every title, is Python with FastAPI.

### On the desktop: Bridddge

Bridddge is a macOS app for LinkedIn, built with Electron, React and TypeScript. A multi-page Vite build gives each feature its own React app: the dashboard, the CRM, Social Selling Index analytics, the scheduler and the automations. Data lives in a local SQLite database, so nothing goes to the cloud. Bridddge ships as a signed and notarized macOS app, distributed with an Apple Developer ID.

### On the server: seo-mcp

seo-mcp is an MCP server written in Node.js and TypeScript, with no framework dependencies. It runs on the user’s own machine and needs no API keys. AI editors such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor call it to audit a page or crawl a whole site. Node.js worker threads scan pages in parallel, which keeps crawls of large sites fast. Each of its 28 rules returns structured findings ranked by severity, written for an LLM to read and explain. For live monitoring it streams changes from Firehose by Ahrefs over Server-Sent Events and filters them with Lucene queries. The code is open source on GitHub.

## Other technologies

Used alongside it. TypeScript runs the Next.js front ends of Hiki and Scout and the seo-mcp server. See what we built with each.

- [Next.js](https://larch.ee/technologies/nextjs/): Hiki’s multilingual catalog front end and the Scout web app, both on Next.js 15 with the App Router.
- [MCP servers](https://larch.ee/technologies/mcp-servers/): seo-mcp brings SEO audits into AI editors, and Bridddge ships with its own MCP server.
- [All technologies](https://larch.ee/technologies/): Seven technologies, each one running in a product we shipped.
